Group InstructorBio & Class Description

Cara Melson is a mother of two and a full time school teacher. She has spent the last 8 years teaching group fitness classes part time across Northwest Arkansas. “Physical fitness is my passion; I love working out and helping others achieve their fitness goals” She has participated in multiple community running events and also competed in a sprint triathlon in Conway, AR.

Alexandra LaChance is a New York native who was raised in an atmosphere emphasizing athleticism and discipline. Her parents co-own Gym Kids Gymnastics, so unlike most kids, Alex had a gymnasium as a play room, and gymnastics practice as play-time. Years of adhering to a rigorous gymnastics and strength training regimen and disciplined diet earned her invitations to numerous national elite training camps and competitions, where she was trained by the USA Gymnastics National Coaching Staff. At these camps Alex not only had the opportunity to train alongside current and future Olympic gymnasts, but she also acquired various international gymnastics, strength and conditioning training techniques. As a national elite and level 10 gymnast, Alex became a 5-time USA Gymnastics National Championship Qualifier, and accumulated 5 State Championship gold medals, 10 Regional Championship gold medals, and 25 other Level 10 State, Regional, and National Championship medals. In 2005, Alex accepted a full gymnastics scholarship to the University of Arkansas, where she earned a B.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration as a Fitness Specialist, and was awarded All-American status as the lone senior in the nationally 5th ranked Division One gymnastics program. She is currently finishing up her M.S. in Exercise Science,and is working as a Graduate Assistant in the University Human Performance Lab, along with personal training and instructing Group Fitness classes, all opportunities in which she demonstrates and shares her knowledge of international training techniques, experience as a nationally ranked gymnast, and her understanding of the biomechanical and physiological aspects of strength and conditioning.

Dave holds a bachelors of education degree from the Univeristy of Arkansas and has been a NESTA certified personal trainer since 2004. In addition, Dave is currently working toward his CSCS strength and conditioning certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Throughout his career as a personal trainer, Dave has worked closely with individuals of all age groups and fitness levels including young athletes and older individuals needing individualized programming. Dave enjoys helping people improve their fitness on all levels and aspires to help people improve their overall abdominal strength and tone while teaching the Abs Attack group fitness class.

Lynda has lived in Northwest Arkansas since 1990. She has been a group fitness/yoga instructor since 2002. Lynda is extremely passionate about introducing and educating individuals on ways to lead a healthier, happier life. She continually strives to motivate and inspire class participants to pursue a life that is active and balanced with a body that is conditioned, energetic and flexible.
